I guess that was the reason why I have been loyal to my reliable Sony Ericsson w850i for almost 4 years now. In terms on functionality, the SE w850i performed decently with its 2.0 megapixels rear camera, a front camera, 3G compliance, and the slide screen which I loved.

I'm also against the notion of changing phone every now and then because of the inconvenience associated with transferring contacts details and multimedia files (photos, videos, notes etc).

As much as I tried to hang on to it, my phone eventually failed on me. I tend to get the frustrating 'White Screen of Death" staring back at me on my phone almost on a daily basis.

Thus, it's time to upgrade to a new phone, and it has been long overdue perhaps.

Initially, it was a toss-up between iPhone and Blackberry. I took it upon myself to conduct some online research on the pros and cons between the two, besides asking for opinions from my iPhone and BB users friends. The general consensus was that iPhone is more like a 'fun and application-packed phone' while the BB is more business-savvy and the advantage of BBM (Blackberry Messenger) where you can text anyone who has a BB for free.

Eventually, i decided on iPhone 3Gs. Reasons being, it is more sleek-looking and I dig the countless Apps that can be downloaded and installed Apple's Apps Store. I have tried using Vian's Nokia E71 (which is pretty similar to BB) and found the keypad not to my liking, despite most of the people I've asked vouched for BB's keypad compared to iPhone's touch-pad.



The box consists of the phone, a charger, a set of earphones, instructions booklet, and a charger socket. I opted for 32GB rather than 16GB, because I foresee that I might need some extra space for my photos and videos, and I wouldn't want to risk not having the memory upgrading option.

This was my first purchase of Apple's product, and man, am I impressed already!


Holding the iPhone in my hand, it felt exactly just like the way it looked - sleek, slim, and obviously much better looking than my bulky w850i (which is can be an eyesore since it tend to make my pant's pocket look bulky and fat).



The touch-screen was particularly sensitive and there was no problem whatsoever for a first-timer like me.

The only annoyance I faced is with the touch keypad. I had tapped on the wrong keys for more than 20 times in the first 5 minutes that I tried to familiarize myself with it.

However, I found a solution to that. In order to familiarize myself with the keypad, I painstakingly copied all my contacts one-by-one by keying them into my new phone.

At the end of this torturous task, I've managed to get a good hold of the keypads and even managed to type a full message without an error! There is no shortcut to success, INDEED! =)


This was my first purchase of accessories for my new phone. The phone case set came with a screen protector, a crystal-like casing, a phone stand, and a pouch. Pretty good deal considering it only cost AUD 19.00.

I have been having a helluva time playing with my new phone. Within the first day, I've downloaded more than 90 applications and slowly, it has become a fixture in my life.

I found it to be more convenient than my laptop, and now I tend to surf the Net, stream Youtube videos, update my Facebook, and even checking Manchester United score on the comfort of my bed rather than spending hours sitting in front of my laptop. =)
